Wimbledon Village House completed
Our refurbishment and extension of a Grade II listed apartment in Wimbledon Village is complete March 2026.
The brief was to refurbish and extend a Grade II listed apartment in Wimbledon Village as a calm, quietly luxurious pied-à-terre. Our design retains and restores the original period features throughout, then sets a new sculptural metal staircase within the historic fabric as a clearly modern counterpoint.
Work to a listed building needs listed building consent as well as any planning permission, and every change is weighed against what makes the building significant. Here that meant working with the existing structure rather than against it: the original brick fireplace still anchors the sitting room, and glazed black steel screens divide the living spaces without closing them off, so the original plan can still be read.
The interior is built around bespoke joinery: sage-green kitchen cabinetry with a marble-topped island, oak-framed canopy beds, and bathrooms in warm concrete tones with dark timber vanities, one with a hand-painted palm mural and a copper basin.
