Alex Bilton joins the RIBA Conservation Register

Conservation at ABHR_A

Alex leads our conservation work, which spans Grade II and Grade II* listed buildings in both residential and public settings. Projects include Bayswater House, a duplex apartment in a Grade II listed terrace, and library projects in Westminster and Hornsey.

Before any design work begins, we take time to understand what gives a building its significance. Where original fabric survives, we repair it with appropriate traditional methods and materials. Where new work is needed, we design it as a clear, contemporary addition rather than an imitation.
