The existing 1980s college wing, with outdated facilities and an undersized entrance unable to accommodate its growing user base. Our approach was to modernise and optimise the layout while respecting the original structure, creating three interconnected classrooms that support a contemporary, dynamic teaching environment.
The design introduces new collaborative workbenches with integrated storage, alongside revamped teaching walls and facilities for staff. A new acoustic ceiling with integrated lighting enhances the space’s acoustics and atmosphere, creating a more effective learning environment.
A thoughtfully planned support office provides efficient passive supervision across the revamped Green Skills Hub, ensuring smooth operation within the space. The entrance was redesigned with large expanses of glazing to flood the hall with light, accompanied by a green roof and enhanced accessibility, ensuring a welcoming and sustainable entrance to the building.
