A simple idea that is uses an existing, unfairly distributed land resource to extend the agency of inner-city residents and can be easily rolled out across the Boroughs using existing technology and infrastructure.

The residents of every road vote on the % of the Resident’s Parking Bays to open for garden application. Operated like an allotment, residents can apply for a garden bay, and join a wait list for popular areas. Bays are prioritised for those without gardens first.

In this case study, Bellefield Road in Brixton has voted for 50% of their resident’s parking to be available to local people as garden bays.
