This 7,500 sq ft refurbishment transformed a tired 1970s council office into a contemporary workspace fit for modern office life. Located on the first floor of an active leisure centre, the project presented unique challenges: council staff remained in occupation throughout construction, requiring careful phasing and coordination.
Our comprehensive remodel included complete MEP systems renewal, fire systems, building management systems, and access control—all within a £500,000 budget. The design balances open-plan collaboration areas with meeting rooms, breakout spaces, and quiet pods for online meetings, acknowledging the evolving needs of hybrid working. A dedicated faith room reflects the diverse community the office serves.
Working as Lead Consultant across RIBA Stages 2-7, we navigated the complexities of refurbishing an occupied building while maintaining business continuity. In-house CGIs helped the client visualise options and make informed decisions without additional cost. The project demonstrates our ability to deliver cost-effective transformations within tight timeframes, creating functional, welcoming environments that support both wellbeing and productivity in challenging existing conditions.
