The client approached us after purchasing an end of mews house that suffered from a lack of daylight and small enclosed rooms created by being surrounded by 7 party walls.

We conceived an open plan, column free space organised around a green wall lined courtyard bringing light into the house. The brick facade pattern presents a fluid ‘curtain’ to the mews, allowing the glazing behind to gradually reveal its views to the street and provide a diffused quality of light to the private spaces within. The interior is united by a series of sculptural elements that have evolved from the same language.
